Welcome to my class, here is a little about myself...
I am of Latvian/German heritage. I was born in Luebeck, Germany, however, I was raised on Long Island and am a New Yorker thru and thru. I attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook and graduated with a BE in Engineering Science and a MS and ABD in Materials Science Engineering. I am now a long time Tucson resident.
I am a retired IBM engineer with a 40 year career in microelectronics and magnetic recording technology. I am also a teacher certified in secondary education with majors in Science, Chemistry and Physics.
Personally, I am a culture vulture who enjoys the theater, art and classical music. I also enjoy astronomy and sports (I was the penalty box timekeeper for the U of A ice hockey team for 20 years). I am a strong advocate for US technology retention and have been involved with K-12 outreach programs for over 40 years.
